Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte
asked President Aquino today to replace with soldiers all airport personnel and
workers in the face of the “tanim-bala” incidents at the Ninoy Aquino
International Airport.
"I'd like to call the attention
of the President as I did the other day that he must do something about
it," Duterte said, according to ABS-CBN.
"The President should order the
relief of all officials and employees connected to CAAP [Civil Aviation
Authority of the Philippines] (and the) aviation command, including sa mga
porter services (at) mga driver," Duterte added.
The mayor said his anger over the
issue is beyond words, adding that he is willing to send the Davao City police
to man the airports if need be.
Duterte expressed belief there’s a
conspiracy to plant the bullets on the baggage or bags of plane passengers.
"There has to be a conspiracy
(among the) porters and the drivers and the police," Duterte explained.
