Fancy a hooting sunset stroll?

With a long weekend starting today on account of the Muslim festival  Eid al Adha, you may want a family or a romantic stroll with the majestic Manila Bay sunset as backdrop. It can be done, yes, while minimizing the chances of you or your loved ones getting mugged along Roxas Boulevard, the favorite spot of wedding photographers for pre-nuptial shoots.

The place to go to for a marvelous view of the sun setting down onto the sea is the palm-tree lined parking lot of the Vikings buffet restaurant at the extreme corner of the Mall of Asia opposite the giant ferris wheel. The spot is far from the maddening crowd and has roving guards – perfect for taking selfies with no worries about your iPhone 6 being snatched off your hands.

Dinner is no problem with the aforementioned eat-all-you-can restaurant, but if you’re financially challenged there’s still plenty to choose from after walking past the more upscale places. And did I say there’s a Hooters too for fish and chips and beers with your pals? Life is good. Enjoy!
