Think before you click!

Not fast enough, and certainly not thoroughly enough.

TV5’s online news portal Interaksyon on Wednesday called a slip-up by presidential aspirant Mar Roxas when, on the second year since the Zamboanga City siege, he greeted its residents “happy anniversary” on his Facebook account.

Read the original post by the resigned Interior and Local Government Secretary: “Hi, fellow veterans of the Zamboanga siege. Happy anniversary! (emphasis ours).

The blooper was corrected as follows with the removal of the “happy anniversary”: “Hi, fellow veterans of the Zamboanga siege. Just wanted to take a moment and reflect and thank you for your leadership and commitment to the welfare of our people and country.”

No matter the editing, Interaksyon noted that “whoever corrected the message did not delete the original post but merely edited it.

“The hitch is, Facebook has an ‘edit history’ that anyone viewing a posted message can use to see how it has been edited.

“Thus, up to this posting, anyone who uses the edit history function on the Zamboanga post can see both the original and corrected versions.”

Here, there’s no point in giving anymore the link because the post, as it should have been done in the first place, must have already been deleted. –End-
